Let's see, the auditors of broker-dealers were required to register with the PCAOB and be inspected after the Madoff affair. It's 2021, Bernie Madoff pleaded guilty to the frauds in 2009.
Why does the PCAOB still have an "Interim Inspection Program Related to Audits of Brokers and Dealers" still in place. Interim for over twelve years????

How could the PCAOB be serious about "Driving Continuous Improvement in Audit Quality" when they have an interim program in place for over twelve years?
